Measurable aim(s) of enterprise:

To ensure our enterprise is successful, we will make sure we arrange a day where all of us will gather as a team to sell the products together, we will choose an area to sell to our potential customers. We will also be advertising voluntary vacancies for those who want to help us sell the products on the day. The aim for this enterprise is to:
1. Make contacts and network with someone from the UK to advertise our brand and charity work
2. Make contacts and network with someone from Japan to advertise our brand and charity work
3. Design uniform as part of ‘our Identity’ to show we are charity workers
4. Make posters to inform of our charity work
5. Make flyers to inform of our charity work and brief description of products price are sold for.
This will be handed out to people on the street and at people’s homes.
6. To come up with a budget plan of how much we can spend on flyers, posters, and product making.
7. Make our brand legal
8. Sell our products in person and Online

Your target market:

Our enterprise is charity work, so we are aiming at diverse audience who has a kind heart and generosity that could donate money to the ‘Guardian’s Charity’ for Japan. We will look in to the areas of London, of the best place and area to sell our products; this means we can sell on the streets and also selling our products online. Before we have target customer, we will carry out a survey beforehand and asked what particular types of customer would donate money.

Sample of questions we may ask in our survey:
‘How much would you donate for charity?’
‘What makes you want to donate money?’

The benefit that customer receive is, they can buy our products at reasonable prices and with every penny they provide for us, will go to Japan. The wrist band will represent ‘their kindness and their generosity’ for their donation, morale is also gained.

Promotion strategy and partnerships:
Our promotion strategy is to start by designing our uniform as part of showing ‘our identity’ as charity workers and who we are working as, designing our enterprise logo name as ‘Guardian’s Charity’, set up a website that will strictly advertise the charity work, look in to the possible areas that people are likely to donate money. We will also use twitter and set up the name under ‘Guardians Charity’ and frequently reminding followers to buy our products and donate money through our website. We will also be doing frequent updates through video recording about our charity work and this will be publishing live on YouTube. We will be informing friends and families to spread the words to their friends so that they are aware of our campaign.
Xuan and Thanh will be designing the posters and flyers; this will be placed in public areas with permission such as shopping centre, library, and public library, handing out flyers to homes and on the streets.

The products that we are going to sell are not going to be expensive, as this will go towards charity, the starting price will probably range from £2– £6 and onwards. If we can sell £2 per item x 10, we can make £20 per day. By the end of the week we will make £120 per week, by a month we will make £360.00 per month. This is just a guide we may use, although it will be hard to sell at the beginning, we just need to start promoting our brand and our self so that people are aware of our charity work.

Exit Strategy / Risk management
If our products are not selling as well as we thought it would be, or no income at all, the worst case scenario would have to be reduce all prices of the products at affordable prices.

T-shirt ideas i came out with:

Marketing research:

I goggled Japan, and came out with this statement "U.S. Charities Raise $64-Million for Japan Relief" (philanthropy.com)

Also 1.3million has been raised for Japan buy Sony Playstation "campaign around 18th of March by offering special custom themes to those who donate money from their wallet in the PlayStation Store which is now operating in 40 countries around the globe" (www.ps3crunch.net).

The best way to advertise our own company is through the internet. A donation website will be made if not before, but after the formative. We will be ongoing as we do plan to sell after uni is over.

After Trish spoke to the "save the children" charity, which was about the japan disaster. They suggested at the japan disaster had a lot of support already (and that they had raised their target amount already), and that we should raise money for their main focus, children. So we are now basing our project on raising money for "Save the Children".

Idea inspiration for the wings taken by my camera, its a chocolate bar, from Tesco, near campus. Because originally, when we discussed our project .... the word Guardian came from saying Guardian Angel. A birds wing is the symbol for our company, and I'll will base my designs around that,

T-shirt design:

Some logo samples i have been working on:

Went to lakeside (25/05/11), and picked up a brochure from the t-shirt printing shop. it works out we pay 14.50 each, with our own design. Will be getting them printed, on my way to work in lakeside in the coming weekend. Clearly our budget was going to go over, so it;s more of a reason we are going to sell them after uni.

29/05/11

doing some design on the postcards, which we will be selling. i have 10 examples:

The answers to the survey question i produced on Monkey Survey:

this survey gave us an idea on how much we should charge for the items and what the items should be.

2/06/11

Today i booked our spot to sell our item, by emailing Pete Harris in Ravenbourne College. We were going to sell them in Central London, Leicester Square. But then we had to go, to the council for a permit/approval and didn't see the point as it might have rained and the items would have been damaged. The college has a roof and pretty of foot fall. I also, looked at the cost of postcards, so Trish and I went on the net and found Vistaprint.co.uk. the costs of the postcard came to (screenshot below)

also looked at another t-shirt printers, www.spreadshirt.co.uk:

Didn't really workout as the costs were getting higher, each time a design was added from their samples. So lakeside looks like the one for the t-shirts, at 14.50 each, with our designed logo for them to print.

Got the t-shirts printed. Samples below:

The T-shirt printing shop in Lakeside "T-Shirt Print" above, and the T-shirt below:

6/6/11

Today is the day we sold our items. the bookmarks were £1, the postcards were 50p and the magnets were £1, also any three item for £2.50. We made more than £35, snapshots below:

A snap of the items laid out on the table, along with "Save the Children" slickers and a donation pot. We also had a separate box too, with an £5 float.

We made about £40 and that was a good day for us. We did well considering the uni was a dive and didn't have many people in on that day.

10/06/11

we had our formative and got some great information and advise. It would have be best to have told the donators that its a minimum of £1 and you can choose if you want the gift or not. And that we should've looked into a area in which save the children focus on. like small projects in the local area or something of that type. but the collection will be an on going thing.
